FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. Question: Where do I call to find out information concerning my dues, membership questions, address or phone number changes? Answer: The District Lodge secretary will be happy to answer any questions you might have. She can be reached at 337-433-2000 Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - noon, and between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The fax number is 337-433-2014. Email: international245@bellsouth.net 2. Question: Do I have any insurance coverage with the local or district lodge? Answer: If it is an accidental death there is a $2,000.00 policy paid to the beneficiary of the deceased. This is a free benefit through American Income Life Insurance Company, a union insurance company. 3. Question: In the event of death who does the family need to contact? Answer: Call the district lodge secretary, Becky, and let her know of the member's death. A death certificate for the deceased member and name, address and phone number of the beneficiary is all that is needed to file for the insurance. 4. Question: When I retire how much will my union dues be? Answer: Zero. But please come by and fill out an Application for Retirement Card so that you can remain a member in good standing and still receive all the benefits of your union at absolutely no cost to you. Just call or come by the union hall prior to your retirement from the company.
